In September the Government launched ‘Caring for our future: shared ambitions for care and support.’ Caring for our future is an opportunity to bring together the recommendations from the Law Commission and the Commission on the Funding of Care and Support with the Government's Vision for Adult Social Care, and to use these recommendations as a basis for a discussion with stakeholders about what the priorities for reform should be. The Department of Health is seeking the views of people who use care and support services, carers, local councils, care providers and the voluntary sector, about the priorities for improving care and support. In the video on the Department of Health’s website David Behan, Director General of Social Care talks about Caring for our future and explains how you can share your views on the six priorities that he believes have the biggest potential to make improvements to the care and support system. |
