| Please find a leaflet attached about the Personal Best Programme in South Yorkshire if you would like have the chance to volunteer at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games will require 70,000 games time volunteers. The Personal Best Programme aims to prepare people for this challenge by offering training and volunteer opportunities in the lead up to 2012 and beyond – ultimately aiming to encourage 20,000 people into work. Personal Best is a training and volunteering programme for people who are not in work or education, but would like to gain opportunities to volunteer in their community and at the same time improve their skills and chances of getting a job.Personal Best aims to encourage people to into training to boost their confidence, and volunteer to gain work experience, using the excitement surrounding the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. All graduates of Personal Best who successfully apply for a Games Maker Volunteer role will be guaranteed an interview. |
