| Family / Carer Experts Wanted |

As part of a review of all learning disability services (following the recent Winterbourne View scandal) the Care Quality Commission is to undertake a programme of unannounced inspections of services for people with learning disabilities. The Inspections will focus on the care and welfare of service users and safeguarding service users from abuse. They will be carried out by inspectors supported by ‘experts by experience’ and also a family/carer expert (of someone who has a learning disability and has or uses services) under the CQC’s ‘Acting Together’ initiative.
