Learning Disability Hate and Mate Crime |

Mate Crime is when people pretend to be friends with people who have a learning disability but go on to exploit them. Are people really friends or fakes? The Safety Net project has developed a range of resources regarding Learning Disability Hate and Mate Crime which are available to download for free on their website. The project has 750 CD resources to give to interested parties. The CDs contain a number of different PowerPoint training sessions for people with a learning disability and others for staff and supporters. The CDs also contain evaluations for the training, case studies, short film clips, questionnaires to assist with local planning and some useful publications including the easy-read booklet developed by the project. Each CD also contains a simple 'How To' guide. The CD's are being made available for £5.00 each to cover the costs of postage and packing. To order your CD send an email to
