| Low Review Response |

Following concerns about the impact of the Coalition Government’s plans to take away Disability Living Allowance from disabled people who use residential care, leading disability charities commissioned Lord Low of Dalston to undertake a review into how the personal mobility needs of people living in state-funded residential care are met. SCIL and Sheffield LINk submitted the attached joint response to the review, which includes feedback from a focus group with older people and disabled people who use residential care, held to give them the chance to take part and influence Government decision making in the development of policies around independence (and personal mobility). LINk’s attached October newsletter contains an article on the joint focus group. |
