Sheffield Salon is a not for profit organisation and a new public forum for debate on issues in politics, science, philosophy, art and culture.The aim of the Salon is to try and capture the essence and nuances of current issues. Specialist speakers such as authors, artists and academic specialists introduce the subject and then the debate is opened to the audience. A chair moderates the debate, making sure that as many members of the public as possible have the opportunity to make their point and that questions and differences of opinion are drawn out, taken seriously and responded to where possible.
