SUFA Peer Support Group Invitation

Speaking up for Advocacy ( SUFA ) wants to hear from disabled people but also from people and organisations who wish to support a ‘bottom up’ response to the cuts in social care and support , the introduction of personalisation, disability issues, rights and supported living. SUFA intends to develop an independent peer support group and would very much welcome your comments on how such a group could be established, how often it could meet and what kind of support would be needed to develop and maintain it. There are local examples about how peer support can promote people’s rights and help develop better support options for people, for example see the work of the Personalisation Forum in Doncaster. The Personalisation Forum has offered to support the development of the group and would be happy to look at ways of working collaboratively. SUFA would like to invite people or organisations interested in supporting the development of a group to a meeting on the 28th of September at 6.30pm at SUFA’s offices, Sorby House, Burngreave. Please find a letter of invitation attached with further information from SUFA written on behalf of the People’s Parliament and its members.
