UN Convention Workshop Report September 2010 |

Sheffield Centre for Independent Living as a member organisation of the Network of Networks rolled out consultation documents and held a workshop to secure the opportunity for disabled people in Sheffield to participate in the independent living Strategy and implementation of the UN Convention. It is hoped the following consultation responses help inform the Independent Living Strategy Group's annual report, as well as the government's response to the UN Convention's 2011 report.In addition to involving as many disabled people as possible through the distribution of questionnaires and signposting to legislation SCIL hosted a workshop on 30th September 2010 to provide disabled people in Sheffield with a chance to take part and influence Government decision making in both of these areas. Furthermore SCIL hopes its methods were able to put disabled people at the centre of its activities and help develop the idea of co production and promote the strengths of a user led organisation.The report is attached here.
