Green Estate Spaceshaper Event

Green Estate is an environmental project based at the Discovery Centre, 197 Manor Lane Sheffield S2 1UL. The project is working to develop its links with underrepresented groups and individual people to design its services to meet their needs and also to tell people about the leisure, horticultural and environmental education services it offers.

Green Estate is holding a Spaceshaper public consultation event on the 17th & 24th May from 10am to 1pm at the Discovery Centre. Travel and support costs will be met. Spaceshaper is designed to enable individual people to visit a site along with others and to assess how they perceive the place to be in terms of  access, maintenance usability etc (support will be provided where required) through completion of a questionnaire which is evaluated by a computer model to provide a series of charts. The aim is to identify examples of good and poor practice and stimulate meaningful discussion and ideas for development in the future. Experience has shown that after visiting the site and filling out the questionnaire it takes a while to input all the data into the software package so the second visit is when the discussion session will take place to talk about observations and ideas.

Not all of the site will be accessible to everyone but the aim of the event is to come up with access ideas and strategies to enable as many people as possible to be able to use as much as possible of the site and the services that Green Estate provides in the future.
