| Right to Control Customer Journey |
| Thirteen customers from the different funding streams involved in Right to Control (RTC) got together at a workshop hosted by Sheffield Centre for Independent Living (SCIL) on 13th October 2010 at the Town Hall. The customers made comments on the draft customer journey for Right to Control which has been produced based on suggestions from Sheffield customers. Customers approved this journey, but made some further comments for consideration as things develop. Some of the main points disabled people have raised are: Finding the right information is the first step, approaching an agency is the second step of the journey; How staff treat you is very important. All staff should be trained by disabled people on disability equality issues; Most forms and processes are medical model based asking you to demonstrate all the things you can’t do. In early January we will be organising further workshops for disabled customers to produce the information booklets, and DVDs etc that will be used to inform new customers about the Right to Control.
